Vumii releases Claritii 500, latest advanced day/night imaging solution.
Jan 31, 2011 - Claritii 500 is Vumii’s mid-range video technology platform based on a near infra-red, focused beam LED array. These day/night video assessment cameras enable detailed human assessment in complete darkness at ranges out to and beyond 500 meters. Vumii surmounted the <100 meter typical conventional LED illumination range by inventing a unique, high-powered, concentrated beam of energy at ~6 degrees in divergence. This invisible LED illumination is combined with a specialized imager, integrated continuous optical zoom lens, and durable pan-tilt platform to create the Claritii platform. Unlike thermal imaging (infra-red) cameras, Claritii produces near-optical contrast imagery, in which text and numbers can be read, faces discerned, and people recognized from zero light to full daylight, high magnification via continuous optical long-focal length zoom day and night, the ability to see through glass windows or windshields at night, high resolution court admissible video. Claritii systems are easy to integrate within existing security infrastructure and offer low total cost of ownership. Claritii enables security personnel to dramatically extend perimeter surveillance and/or reduce the number of cameras necessary to assess and respond to security threats throughout a site. Claritii is ideal for perimeter surveillance at high risk commercial industrial sites, transportation facilities, and government locations.

Vumii's Newest Long-Range Cameras Punctuate The Difference Between Thermal Cameras for Threat Detection versus Cameras Optimized for Threat Assessment
Sept 18, 2009 -- For decades, there has been incredible progress in the ability to detect threats at the perimeter of a site, a border of a country, or on a body of water. This spans technologies from radar to fence sensors, and thermal cameras to video motion detection. And much more. But once a threat is detected, especially a threat that is detected in the dark, it's important to assess that threat effectively. This is important in order to be able to respond faster if the potential threat is a real danger. If it's just an animal or false alarm, then it's important to ignore it so that security forces aren't distracted from real dangers. And if something bad happens, there are various important reasons to record the details of what happened in the dark, whether for finding the perpetrator -- or for prosecuting the perpetrator.
For years, Vumii has been developing cameras that can do all of those things. But now, Vumii has pioneered a new line of long-range day/night threat assessment cameras, cameras that are more economical, making them accessible to a much larger set of companies, government agencies, and military forces.
